My visit to Shimla became more exciting when I got the chance to enjoy the scenic and greenery of the Shimla Summer Hill. First let me tell you the importance of this hill; the hill attracted nation attention since Mahatma Gandhi came here. He used to stay at the beautiful Georgian House of Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur. In addition to it, the Himachal Pradesh University is also located here.
The view of snow capped mountains; green meadows and natural beauty are just unforgettable. I opted to have a leisure walk here and believe me the make me felt so close to the Mother Nature. Therefore whenever you go there do enjoy a casual walk as that leave your mood rejuvenating and fresh.
After enjoying a quiet walk I decided to go on a horse ride as that takes you through the dense forest region of cedar and oak. I must say it wonderful and should be tried at least once. I want to go back to the place again to enjoy that peaceful walk in the lap of the nature and the adventurous horse ride.

The people of Shimla are informally called Shimlaites. With largely cosmopolitan crowds, a variety of festivals are celebrated here. The Shimla Summer Festival, held every year during peak tourist season, and lasting 3–4 days, is celebrated on the ridge. The highlights of this event include performances by popular singers from all over the country. Shimla has a number of places to visit. Local hangouts like the mall road and ridge are in the heart of the city. Most of the heritage buildings in the city are preserved in their original tudorbethan architecture. The Viceregal lodge which houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, and Wildflower hall that is now a luxury hotel are some of the famous ones. A collection of paintings, jewellery and textiles of the region can be found at the State Museum (built in 1974). Further out from the city is the Naldehra nine-hole golf course, the oldest of its kind in India.Kufri is a ski resort (winter only) located 19 kilometres (11.8 mi) from the main city.
